Christopher Chenevey was raised in Westchester County, NY, just north of NYC, and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1991 at age sixteen. He graduated high school early, so that he could enlist in the United States Marine Corps, and arrived for boot camp at Parris Island, SC one month after he turned eighteen.

After completing boot camp, and marine combat training, Chris attended aviation electrician school in Memphis, TN, and then went on to a secondary Avionics school in Orange County, CA, before arriving at his permanent duty station in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He worked as an Avionics Technician supporting several CH-53E and CH-46 helicopter squadrons. Chris made it to the rank of Corporal, E-4, and among other highlights, he was invited to the 'Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course' in Yuma, Arizona, to support world class marine aviators who deploy aircraft weapons systems in a ‘total threat’ environment over the desert for a course of several weeks.

Upon leaving the military, Chris attended undergrad at the University of Akron, focusing on a double major (criminal law and political science), with a pre-law minor. After graduating, he was accepted into St. Thomas University School of Law, in Miami, FL, which is known for its’ diverse student body, including many Cuban-Americans. St. Thomas Law School is unique, because it traces its’ roots to Havana, Cuba (having been re-formed in South Florida after Catholics were expelled from Cuba in the 1950’s).

Christopher’s first experience in the practice of law came in 2005, when he worked as a ‘certified legal intern’ with the Dade County Public Defender’s office, during his last semester of law school. For six months, he worked full time at the criminal courthouse in downtown Miami, defending serious felony cases under the supervision of three attorneys. He gained experience on cases ranging from drug crimes, to rape, armed robbery, and embezzlement.

Upon graduation from law school, Chris was offered a position as legal consultant, and spent almost a decade serving Fortune 500 corporate legal departments and prestigious outside counsel law firms, in the complex area of discovery within the Federal courts. One of his highlights was being devoted for more than two years, as a consultant for Halliburton, related to the tragic accident that occurred on the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform.

Chris left his position as a legal consultant in 2014, to follow his passion into the fields of Criminal Defense and Personal Injury, at the Law Office of Ron Sholes. He made this choice because above all else, he desires to make an impact for clients that are facing some of the most difficult times of their life. He takes pride in being a zealous advocate, in or out of court, for every client he serves.
